Assistant Greenkeeper (Posted 18th January 2024)
An excellent opportunity has arisen at Huddersfield Golf Club, to add to our existing team.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude and be able to work on initiative and as part of a team.
Huddersfield Golf Club is venerated as the home of Yorkshire golf having been established in 1891 and has an illustrious history most recently hosting the English Men’s County Finals in 2018.
This position has arisen at an exciting time as we look to develop/improve the course over the remainder of the decade.
Since 2000 all the greens have been replaced to a USGA specification and most recently the bunkers have been reviewed, reshaped, and repositioned. Following a review in 2023, we now have a plan to further enhance the course to reduce reliance on non-organic solutions to ensure the course is playable for longer and more resistant to the changing climate.
Part of this plan is to improve our sustainability and ecological credentials. We understand the importance golf courses have in the environment and the importance of the natural habitat.
Reporting to the Course Manager, the successful candidate is expected to help improve the day-to-day presentation and offer a willingness to continually raise the bar to exceed the expectations of our members and visitors.
In addition to the above the club has a growing membership and the addition of a further member of the team will ensure this continues to grow.
